I'm experimenting with the suggestions and philosophy of Masanobu Fukuoka from his book One Straw Revolution.  After harvest, Mr. Fukuoka sowed clover and lightly spread straw over his fields.  I decided to try this on the lasagna beds and the Hugelkultur, too. I sowed clover seeds on the beds in October.

In the background are two Hugelkultur beds covered with red clover.   I will plant cucumbers and squash in those beds in April.
